The Feeding of the Thousands. Page 357. Mark 6.

Read the story of the feeding of the thousands together. Create yourself a crowd out of teddies or lego figures. In a basket put 2 slices of bread (or bake 2 rolls if you want to extend the activity further!) and cut out 5 fish shapes from cheese or fruit, or sweets. Ask the children to hand out some of the bread and fish to everyone in your crowd. Make sure there is some left in the basket at the end!

Explain that this miracle can show us how God likes to give generously to his children. Fill the basket with things which God has generously given you. You could just write these down on paper or use other objects from around the house to represent things. Maybe a pair of socks to say thank you for clothing, a set of keys to say thank you for your home, photographs of friends and family….you will soon find your basket is overflowing too!

Draw 2 loaves and 5 fish on a leaf to hang on your prayer tree.
