4. THE RADICAL WELCOME

Don’t forget to connect with each other (by asking good questions) and share testimonies of what you have seen God do this week.

Psalm 24:

7 Lift up your heads, you gates;
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.

8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
the Lord mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, you gates;
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.

10 Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.

Remind yourselves of who the King of glory is, and choose to welcome Him tonight to come and have His way.

Worship song suggestion: Here For You

Bible

Read Matthew 10:40-42.

"Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me". Brogan talked about friends who welcome us because of our faith, rather than despite of our faith. These are people who seem to like us, listen to what we have to say, and are keen to serve us. Who do you have in your life like this?

"Whoever receives a prophet, righteous person, disciple". Jesus has placed in us something for the sake of the world. What do you see in the other people in your small group that is a gift to the world?

"Gives these little ones a glass of cold water". What can you do as individuals or a small group to care and support those who's missionary work takes them away from friends, family, and the usual security that many jobs afford?

Prayer

Response

Think of one of your friends or colleagues with whom you feel you can share the Gospel with.

How can you be more encouraging with your words? How many different ways can you think of to speak life and hope and courage to everyone - but especially those stepping out and sharing the Gospel?

Prayer

Spend some time praying for fresh courage and boldness to share the Gospel.

Pray for your friends/colleagues who are welcoming you.

Pray for each other and remind each other what a gift they are! Life and death is in the power of the tongue so speak life and honour.

Pray for God to radically use you this week.
