Read John 5:16-20

In verse 17, Jesus says, “My Father is always at His work, and I too am working.” What does this reveal about God’s ongoing work in the world?

  • How can we recognise where God is at work in our lives and community?

2. Verse 19 shows Jesus’ complete dependence on the Father, saying He can “do only what He sees His Father doing.” How does this challenge our approach to serving God?

  • Are there ways you can better align your actions with what God is doing?

  • What practices help us “see” where God is working around us?


3. In verse 20, Jesus says the Father will show Him “even greater works” to amaze us. How can this inspire our trust in God’s purposes?

  • How does the promise of God doing greater works encourage you to step out in faith?
