Song Suggestion: Man of Sorrows

Bible

This past weekend, David spoke on sexual identity and the gospel, calling us to be both radically welcoming and radically holy. His message was rooted in Isaiah 56:1-5 and Romans 2:1-6. A key quote from his talk was: "The law does not give a license to judge, and grace does not give a license to sin."

1. What surprised you about David’s talk?
2. How can we live out our call to be radically inclusive and radically holy?
3. David spoke of the sufficiency of the gospel—how only Jesus can fulfil all our desires and how Jesus alone is enough. How do you live this out in your own life?

If you want to dive deeper into Isaiah 56:
Isaiah 56:1-2 speaks of maintaining justice and righteousness. How can we, as followers of Jesus, uphold these values while extending grace and compassion to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation?

In Isaiah 56:3-5, eunuchs are promised a lasting name and inheritance from God. How does this passage challenge our understanding of fulfilment and identity in Christ, especially for those who feel excluded from traditional family structures?

Considering the promise that eunuchs will inherit "a name better than sons and daughters" (v. 5), how does this speak to the greater reward and identity we have in Jesus? How can we apply this truth to encourage and support those who may feel marginalised in the church or society?#
