Reflection
When reading through today’s Psalm, the words that struck me the most were ‘His Love endures forever’. I was reminded of God’s power and love for us. During this time of ‘lockdown’, we might find it difficult to reflect on what God has already provided us with, as we are more concerned about what comes next. Every so often we just need to reflect on God’s grace and 'tender mercy'. He has and always will provide.
During this time it is hard to evangelise in the way we are comfortable with, but this does not mean God has called us to stop, in fact I believe that this is God’s cry to us to share his grace and love on a bigger scale, as people are in a place of searching and wanting answers. How can we begin to do this? 'Do not fear' as God has provided you with what you need, as John 'began to speak, praising the lord, all the neighbours were filled with awe'. Just by praising his name and sharing his word, you impact the lives around you, and he 'enables us to serve him without fear'.
Sometimes we may feel more alive in his spirt and other times we need to ask for help, but it’s amazing that God will give us what we need to grow in his presence and show others his love, and just like God was with John, ‘the Lord’s hand’ is with us.
Prayers
Father God,
We are sorry that sometimes we do not turn to you in our times of need, and search for answers ourselves.
Thank you for always being there and providing us with what we need. Thank you that your love endures forever.
Lord please help us as we reach out to others who may not know your name. May the words we speak have impact on their lives, speaking words of love and grace.
Amen.
Collect
Almighty Father,
Who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples
With the sight of the risen Lord:
Give us such knowledge of his presence with us,
That we may be strengthened and
Sustained by his risen life
And serve you continually in righteousness and truth;
Through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
Who is alive and reigns with you,
In the unity of the Holy Spirit,
One God, now and for ever.
Amen.
