Discussion

1. We Run (from God)

Verses 11–13 show Israel abandoning God to run after cultural idols of prosperity and pleasure.

The Question: What is the specific "modern idol" you are running toward right now instead of God, and how is it exhausting/affecting you? Where do you need to wake up!?

2. God Runs

In verses 14–18, God disciplines His people because He loves them too much to let them remain comfortably or happily in their sin. He runs towards us, just as he raised up Judges to rescue the people.

The Question: What specific sin or compromise are you currently coddling or hiding in your life, falsely believing it won't completely destroy you?

3. Jesus Reigns

Verse 19 reveals a hopeless, repeating cycle of sin because human leaders always rise and fall. However, Jesus rose and reigns!

The Question: What is the recurring cycle of compromise in your life that you need to stop trying to fix yourself and completely hand over to Jesus to break forever?
