Bible

Read Genesis 6:9-22

We read that "favour found Noah" before he was described as righteous (Genesis 6:8-11).

  • How does understanding God's grace as something freely given, rather than a reward for our efforts, change how you view your own journey of faith and your motivation for obedience?

  • Can you share a time when you experienced God's grace enabling you to do something you couldn't have done on your own?

The Bible describes humanity as deeply corrupted, emphasising that our own attempts at salvation will always fall short. God had to give Noah precise instructions.

  • Where do you most often find yourself trying to "build your own ark" in life?

  • What challenges you the most in letting go of self-reliance?

The ark was the "only vessel" to safety, and only had one door to get in. The Bible presents Jesus as our "only way."

  • How does this exclusivity of salvation through Jesus resonate with you, either as a source of comfort or a challenge? Practically speaking, how can we live out the urgency of inviting others into the "Ark of Jesus Christ," knowing the "storm" is real?

Noah looked crazy building an Ark in a very arid, dry land.

  • When was the last time you did something that looked crazy to others as you were being obedient to God?
