Romans 8:1-11

Freedom

We have started a new series called Freedom, looking at Romans 8.

This week we are looking at Freedom through the Holy Spirit.

1. Freedom from condemnation (v1-4)

We are free from condemnation. This is true for those of us that follow Jesus, and it is true forever.

Do you live like there is no condemnation?

What happens if we live as if freedom from condemnation is not true?

What does living like there is no condemnation look like?

2. Free to worship (v5-8)

We are free to worship because our minds are set on the things the Spirit desires.

Having our minds set on earthly things leads to death.

Where our minds are set makes a huge difference to the way we live.

"Your religion is what you do with your solitude".

Where is your mind set?

Do you live a lifestyle of worship, knowing that is what you have been set free for?

How can we encourage one another to set our minds on the things the Spirit desires?

3. Freedom from death (v9-11)

The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is living in us.

Do we live like this is the case?

How does this change our perspective?

Pray for one another.
