Spiritual Disciplines
Week 6 - Worship
Opening discussion about the practice
You can find all the information about the practice, and loads of resources relating to the sermon series at stthomas.church/disciplines.
How did you find the talk on Sunday?
The practice for this week was to look at your weekly rhythm and ask where/if worship fits in to that. Share with the group: how did you find this exercise?
What was God saying to you, either from the practice or the talk? What are you going to do about it?
This may be as far as your group gets. If so, that's fine!
Bible study
Read Mark 11:1-11 together.
Here Jesus enters into Jerusalem on a donkey. What is significant about this?
The crowds come out to meet him in worship, but days later they will turn on him. What does this tell us about our own worship lives and hearts?
Where do we see the grace, mercy, and love of Jesus in this story?
How should that affect the way that we worship?
Prayer & community
As we go into holy week, spend some time praying as a group that we would go on this journey together with Jesus towards the cross. Share how you're going to engage with this in the coming week.
Closing prayer
True and humble king,
hailed by the crowd as Messiah:
grant us the faith to know you and love you,
that we may be found beside you
on the way of the cross, which is the path of glory.
