Tuesday 6th July
On Sunday, Lee helped us think about how we pray the following line from the Lord's prayer…
Your Kingdom Come, Your Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
“To clasp the hands in prayer is the beginning of an uprising against the disorder of the world.” - Karl Barth
Read Luke 18:1-8.
Jesus told this story so that we would pray and not give up (verse 1).
Why are we tempted to give up in prayer?
In what ways is Jesus encouraging us to be like the widow?
“Prayer is the open admission that without Christ we can do nothing. And prayer is the turning away from ourselves to God in the confidence that He will provide the help we need. Prayer humbles us as needy and exalts God as wealthy.” - John Piper
In what ways does Jesus tell us this story to help us remember God's nature?
How should this inspire us to pray?
The widow in Luke 18 is crying out for justice - a sign of the Kingdom of God.
What are some of the things we need to cry out to God for today?
Spend some time praying together.
