Romans 8:26-39 | More Than Conquerors

Just for fun

Play musical statues with your favourite music. When the music stops, pose like a superhero!

Activity for everyone

You’ll need: clean, dry paper clips, tissue paper, a bowl of water & pencil with eraser

Step One: Drop a paperclip in the bowl of water and see how it sinks

Step Two: Tear a piece of tissue paper about half the size of a £5 note

Step Three: Gently drop the tissue flat onto the surface of the water

Step Four: Gently place a dry paper clip flat onto the tissue (try not to touch the water or the tissue)

Step Five: Use the eraser end of the pencil to carefully poke the tissue (not the paper clip) until the tissue sinks. Hopefully, the tissue will sink and leave the paper clip floating!

Heroes often have secret weapons, special tools, or advanced powers. They know or have something that others don’t. The same thing is true for God’s heroes. If you know the trick and know the special information, you could do it too.

Something for the whole family

On a piece of paper, write or draw something in your life that worries you and needs conquering in your life. Once everyone has got something down grab a bin and rip up the paper and bin it. As you do, imagine giving that worry over to God to help with. Pray that he helps ease your worries and brings peace to the situation you wrote or drew about.

Questions to talk through together

  • Who’s your hero?

  • What superpower would you like?

  • What day to day worries can you give over to God?

  • Are there any big worries you would like to ask God to help with?

  • How does Jesus help us overcome things?

Prayer

Dear God, we thank you that you are always for us, you love us and want to help us. We give our worries to you and pray that you give us peace. Thank you that you sent your son Jesus to be our hero. Please show us how to share how amazing Jesus is. Amen.
