A Gift for Jesus. Page 423. John 12.

Read the story of Jesus with his friends Mary, Martha and Lazarus. 

What a strange gift for Mary to give to Jesus! But it was a very important one because it showed just how much Mary loved Jesus that she was prepared to give him one of her most precious things. What is your most precious thing? Are you prepared to give this to Jesus? What other things do you have that you could give?

Challenge for today - do some giving to the poor and needy. Perhaps you could raise some money, or sort out some toys to give to children in poverty. Remember it is important to give our very best. If you are going to give a toy, spend some extra time cleaning it and making it look like new. Or if you choose to give some clothes, only choose clothes that are in good quality, washed and ironed. How could you make the gift even better for the recipient? God gives us his best, so we should also give ours.
