Day 40
The Last Supper. Page 442. Matthew 26.
Read the story of the last supper to you. Perhaps this seems similar to something you might do at church - communion. Talk about what each of the elements represent.
The bread - Jesus’ body broken for us on the cross.
The wine - Jesus’ blood shed for our sins.
This is a family meal. Use a bread roll and a cup of juice to hand around your family. As you share it with one another, pray for each other. You could even just say a simple thank you prayer for each person in your family as you pass the bread and juice to them. At the end, say thank you to Jesus for what he did on the cross and welcome him into your family afresh.
Draw some bread and wine on a leaf to hang on your prayer tree.
