Day 4

Noah’s Ark. Page 26. Genesis 6 - 9.

If you have a toy Noah’s Ark at home, now is your time to get it out!

If not, gather together some toy animals and turn your sofa into an ark. Lay some blue scarves or a bedsheet on the floor and squeeze yourself into the sofa boat too for full dramatic effect. Read the Noah’s Ark story together. Your children might be familiar with it, so try asking them to tell it back to you.

What does the rainbow at the end of the story remind us? It is a sign of God’s promises. We all need reminding of God’s promises at times like this. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, His steadfast love endures forever. His faithfulness will never fail.

Have some fun creating rainbows. You could do this scientifically with light and water. Or make one out of different coloured lego blocks. You could draw/paint a rainbow and write a different one of God’s promises along each colour line. You could even use skittles or smarties. The possibilities are endless, just like God’s promises. Draw a rainbow on your leaf to hang on your prayer tree.
